Reasons to main Terry: He's fun as hell

The reason not to main Terry. The best Terry main drop him for Devil man in purple suit.

Reasons to use Terr: number 1 are you ok?

Honestly, a lot of what he said isn’t too true. Terry has WAY more recovery options and mix ups then any other shotos (with Power Dunk, Crackshoot/Burning Knuckle (with BK, you can both do heavy or light), Power Wave, and Normal up-b or input rising tackle, that regard is pretty untrue. If you aren’t able to make it back to stage with terry, you were either too predictable, or knocked too far away.

For crack shoot going the wrong directions, it’s pretty simple. All you have to do is wait six frames so that crack shoot won’t reverse like that. It’s too simple, and people surprisingly don’t know about this.

For his moves being pretty small, f-tilt is quite massive, and a great spacing option. With his crazy burst options of heavy crack shoot and dash attack, along with a variety of air coverage, you can play pretty aggressive against people who try to wall you out (except for maybe the exception of Steve, but you can outplay them there).

And honestly, as long as you understand how coil works along with a few other basic tech (as a terry main, I’m perfectly fine without using negative edge) will get you able to do the inputs way easier than everyone makes it seem, it’s not that complicated.

And honestly? Terry is a pretty fair and balanced character, with big strengths and clear flaws that you can attempt to exploit.

Sorry for the text wall oof, but just my thoughts spilling out. I think Terry is a great main for people wanting to pick up a respected, interesting, and aggressively fun character.

Imagine telling someone not to play a character just because you can't compensate for his drawbacks

This is slander, Terry is really good if you know how to use him.

Terry actually has a pretty good horizontal recovery its just a bit tricky to do

I lowkey don’t agree with this. Yeah your reasons are valid, but I think Terry is the best shoto character, by a good margin.

And yes ik Riddles dropped Terry for Kaz, but that just abusing a lack of Matchup knowledge and 1 broken move, and I don’t think Kazuya is actually that good.

Its actually super easy to get over his drawbacks he has some pretty good recover when used right like his side B into up B his up recovery gives him some decent protection going up the only struggle with recovery is understanding that side B goes the way your facing not the opposite his attacks while being far ranged aren't terrible either with his powered up crack shot can take him a bit far closing the gap or his neutral which can be sped up or slowed down as well as buster wolf not only gaining super armor but go across an entire stage depending and his power geyser being the largest hibox in game makes him very useful his GO moves are also easy to use with buster wolf while not technically a true combo can be put in as a neutral into special because of how fast it is meaning as soon as you finish getting the neutral you will have to press zr in about 2 to 3 frames or get buster wolfed off stage kinda like kazuyas ewgf all in all terry is fun character and does require a lot of learning to understand

There’s also the fact that he can’t snap the ledge when using any of his specials.

He honestly is the most beginner friendly shoto imo. He’s fast but not too fast, the inputs are pretty simple and accessible to all controllers. His combos are simple and don’t have long layers like Ken or Kazuya, and even his up b recovery has full body invincibility (intangibility) for 8 frames and can catch opponents above the ledge trying to spike you when recovering. Overall I’d still recommend him to beginners over Kazuya that way they can get used to the simple implementation of command inputs as well as focusing on fundamentals. And if you ask me he’s even solo viable!

I have yet to see a valid reason not to main terry, this is coming from a former little Mac main

You should have mentioned his HORRIBLE platform drop-through lag

At first I just wanted to see how much I would be willing to dislike the video, but now I agree with what this man said. Exploitable recovery, pretty melee based, and a character hated by many
