A honorable mention to one of the OG runners at Yatabe, Garry Mitsunaga's ABR DeTomaso Pantera. Not a japanese domestic car, but the first in Japan to fly past the much desired 300kph top speed. Mitsunaga died in a crash in that car some time later, never witnessing a domestic break that 300kph mark.

small correction: the ABR Hosoki Z isn’t a 280z, it’s a 280zx. hence the S130 rather than S30

but technically it’s neither because it’s a Fairlady in Japan
