That was really charming! The U of I has always been my home. When I was just a baby my mother was a grad-student here. She'd bring me into the lab with her while doing her research. I'd just lie in my cradle eating paint chips, or whatever it is that babies do. When I was a teenager I would go to the Union basement and play arcade games! Back at their height the Union had dozens of them! I was good enough at the old game Dragon Slayer that people would give me quarters to watch me play. I ended up going to the U of I and graduated here, partly because my father was a professor and it made it quite affordable for us. After working for some years trying to find a job that was right for me I fell into a great one in Life Sciences at the U of I and have now worked here for almost 25 years! Nothing fancy, I just help people with their IT problems. But I love it! I love helping people; and the professors, staff, and students here in Life Sciences are really kind and positive people. So happy holidays and all that to all the great people here!

It is 12:36 am here and I got up for no reason. While I was browsing I found this Holiday greetings from Illinois!!!

I love it !!! It warms my heart! And .. it makes me cry.... as this is the 5th year I am alone by myself to celebrate this season December 25, 2024...Christmas day!!!

Yess we are all going to miss him in my opinion he has been tge #1 Favorite of all chancellor he has done alot for the university of Illinois ill misshim i bunch I'm a B S W here u of I and he never hesitated to take a minute to talk he had alot class.
