I love how he puts no 2 philosophers will have the same answer. For me philosophy is the way to understand things as they are rather then what they're supposed to be to see past the mental barriers we set for understanding

I am not a native speaker, but I think he said “questions are passing over” - not Christians.

Surely science is natural philosophy? And philosophy, more generally, is simply the quest to find out more about anything

Philosophy asks the questions and science provides the answers…

Philosophia the root of the word carries the meaning of lover of wisdom. All wisdom starts with curiosity. Philosophy is asking questions about what we don’t know or doubting what we assume we know, science is the method to test and experiment different answers to those questions

Philosophy is the theory, and science should be the testing of that theory. Modern science is full of untested theory, pushed as fact.

Philosophy comes from honest men and women who have stood on the last frontier of revealed knowledge. Wanting to know the why and the wherefore but not understanding to go across the chasm of that which is revealed and known you must first travel the bridge of faith. But to a person who lives only in the reason realm faith does not compute therefore reason burns the bridge down. And they stand on the last frontier of revealed knowledge and become philosophers.

As a controversial answer of my own, i would say that philosophy, coupled with science, constitutes a substitute religion since humans are universally religious.
Take the theory of evolution, for example. While science has demonstrated that small changes occur within a species, the speculation is that life itself evolved from non-life-- a wild speculation-- but held to religiously.

He doesn’t say “Chirstians are continually passing over”, he says “questions are continually passing over from philosophy into science”…. the transcription is wrong here.

Studying science leads you directly to God. First you invent laws to describe the actions taking place. Eventually you realise these laws actually exist independently and everything is subject to them. In time you realise these laws have all the qualities of God, they are:
Omnipresent-existing everywhere.
Omnipotent- can not be violated.
Omniscient- every action all knowledge in the universe is attributed to them.
When you achieve the theory of everything, the penny drops. and you finally know the mind of God.
One question remains, the first cause question.
Are the laws of science created or are they eternal. Your answer will tell you who you believe God is.
If you believe something created the laws of science -then that is God.
If you believe the laws of science are eternal and uncreated, then the laws themselves, that you have been studying, truly are God. They are an entity existing outside of time and space which has created/evolved you. They are your father in heaven.
Either way you reach the conclusion God exists and I can, via intuition/faith/prayer, have a relationship with him.

Don’t take my word for it, let Professor Hawkin take the floor. In his book Brief answers to Big questions.

“If you believe in science, like I do, you believe that there are certain laws that are always obeyed. If you like, you can say the laws are the work of God, but that is more a definition of God than a proof of his existence.”
Or check out quotes about God from Einstein, Newton, Planck, Maxwell, Descartes, Leibnitz Heisenberg, Dirac all of them converted to theism because of scientific study.

I will end on a quote from Heisenberg, he once said, ‘the first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you’.

His definition of philosophy is exactly the same as a definition od science. lol. And philosophy isn't even scientific.

I have a better definition of philosophy - CHATTER

Such a ridiculous simplistic definition of science and philosophy.
