It’s not hard to see that that image was engraved from beneath. It was engraved on the inside of the ring, and the gold portion was placed inside and over it to protect the image, and the wear‘s finger.

I think it's way older than 2000 years old.

Seems like the ancients had some sort of rotary tool. Primitive hand-powered drills exist, but this suggests that the ancients had some powered tech.
