'Half of India's MPs face criminal...': Why Singapore PM invoked Nehru in country's Parliament

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong invoked India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru while arguing how democracy should work in the city-state during a passionate debate in Parliament. He was speaking during the debate on the Committee of Privileges’ report on complaints about untruths told by former Workers’ Party lawmaker Raeesah Khan. The Congress party in India has meanwhile used the occasion to attack PM Modi, saying while foreign leaders are invoking Nehru, India's own premier is denigrating the country's first prime minister. What a shame!!! We did not see any comment from any politician because they know its true. Not just MP's, even some CM's are most corrupt and dont forget local corporators. I cant say for the rest of India but as an Indian from Bihar this is completely true for my state . A known criminal got to rule my home state for 15 plus years and it took about twenty years to bring him to justice . Even today criminals exist on both sides .

What Singaporean PM said is absolutely true, not only in parliament but also in state assemblies, and municipal corporations. I don't get Congress logic about foreign leaders invoking Jawaharlal Nehru. Singapore is a highly developed society. The kind of policies Singapore implemented to make itself rich, does Congress or any other party have the guts to implement on ground. Invoking name of Jawaharlal Nehru by some foreign leader living in a developed country have zero value to Indians.
