My Great Grandfather was a Taylor in Laredo Texas at that time, and made clothing for high ranking officials including Pancho Villa, and military Generals. My Grandfather would tell us stories about the fighting between the Mexican federal troops and the Revolutions across the river.Villa would make trips to San Antonio periodically to visit a girlfriend. One of the stories my Grandfather told us about Villa was when disguised himself as vendor selling tacos to Pershing troops and at the same time he was evaluating how many cannons, supplies and troops were there. He went in and came out with all the information he needed to plan his attack.

Pancho Villa was not a saint, but he was definitely a man you can count on if you needed help. He made sure every single man in his army was taken care of. Every infantryman had their own horse, received a very good daily ration supply, and had more than enough ammunition for battle. Villa would also take over the land of rich landowners and would give it to the family’s of his soldiers. They would turn it into schools and would use the land to feed his army and families. There was even a point where Villa was so popular he started to print his own money, and banks in El Paso would accept at face value. Villa was hated by the government, but the people did love him

You’re missing some pretty relevant information on Poncho Villa. Such as the reason why he rode against the government and fought for the poor Mexicans and Indians being treated like slaves by the rich landowners on their haciendas. And his alliance with Emiliano Zapata in the south, both riding for the same cause.

Wow his death photo is pretty demeaning. They had him draped over a car door all shot up. Poor Pancho.

It's been rumored in my family that Pancho Villa was my stepdad grandfather. Whether it's true or not I don't know as my stepdad passed a few years back I never got around to ask him.
