WALBRO CARB QUICK FIX

Показать описание
Fuel pump vacuum leaks are tested with 5 psi and a cup of water. Just fix the side that leaks. Don't touch the other half and create problems. Good luck.

I paused it and rubbed one out to your thumb. Thanks. Subscribed

It may have been actually helpful, if you had shown the air test .

i think i get it you need to put the carb in water and blow air into it and see if air leaks from the parts where its not suposed to leak because if air leaks through there petrol will as well

Would be nice to see how you tested it...

This video is hard to follow. Looking at the how the fuel line is connected and the discussion of blowing air at 2 1/2 - 5 psi and water I'm guessing the fuel delivery passage is pressurized with 2 - 5 psi of air with the carburetor submerged in water. Then you look for bubbles similar to how a bicycle inner tube is tested for leaks. From the Walbro carburetor service YouTube video it states the pressure pop off pressure for the metering needle should be between 15 - 50 psi then the reseat pressure should be around 5 psi. From this information the carburetor should not pass air until pressures above 15 psi are reached so below 15 psi pressure should be able to test for leaks. Having digested this information, as such, it sounds like it could be a very useful checking for carburetor leaks pressure leaks. The fix is to replace the pump diaphragm and gasket. You might also go a head and check the pop off pressure and reseat pressure. Reseat pressure is suppose to be around 5 psi. The carburetor should maintain a minimum bleed down pressure at 5 psi. I believe the carburetor doesn't have to be perfect at holding pressure. If it will go for 15 seconds without much loss it is probably fine. In operation the carburetor is operating with pulse pressures at 1, 000 - 10, 000 rpms.

The real problem according to a YouTube video with Walbro carburetor is the two check valves that are tiny neoprene nylon inserts under the welch plugs. These small check valves are not in the Walbro rebuild kit and are subject to swelling and closing up from ethanol gasoline. Most of the time the problem with a really badly functioning 2-cycle pulse driven fuel pump carburetor is the pump diaphragm. You want to replace the metering needle diaphragm as well because they are the same material, but the pump diaphragm is vibrating at the RPM of the engine, while metering diaphragm should operate much slower to maintain constant uniform fuel availability to the carburetor's fuel circuitry.
