History says that in the beginning Lord Shiva was worshiped as the primary God, but later the significance shifted to revering Goddess Meenakshi as the chief deity. Visiting and leaving Madurai without visiting Meenakshi Temple is impossible. The aura of the city has the love and blessings of Goddess Meenakshi. It is a very beautiful place and one must visit it at least once. So without any further ado, let us dive into the details on everything that you must consider before your next trip to Madurai.

Madurai Meenakshi Temple Timings
Darshan/Pooja Timing: 05:00 am to 12:30 pm & 16:00 pm to 22:00 pm.

Meenakshi Temple Darshan charges
Free darshan available for all Hindus.
Rs 50 for special darshan per head separately
Entry charge of Rs 50 per head for All foreigners.
Depending upon the time, crowd, and patience; the devotees can decide to have a free darshan or a paid darshan.

Rameshwaram Hotel: SS Grand

Sri ramanathaswamy Temple, Lord Rama had worshipped Lord Shiva here. Lord Rama, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, while coming back after killing demon Ravana had offered his prayers to Lord Shiva. Demon Ravana, who had abducted Goddess Sita, was a Brahmin king. As Lord Rama had killed him to end his cruelties and to rescue the Goddess, had decided to seek atonement by worshipping Lord Shiva. This is one of the jyotirlinga out of 12 lingas.

Monday To Sunday: 5AM To 1PM & 3PM To 9PM
Tickets: Free Darshan & Special Darshan (Rs. 250) available.
