If you are still struggling to get hired.. this is something you need to know.

In this video, I address the common concern about AI taking over developer jobs and share an inspiring snippet from Primagen. Whether you're self-taught, pursuing a college degree, or following another path, this video is for you. Don't give up—hard work and dedication can still land you a great job in tech!

Key Takeaways:

- AI will not replace junior developers; there is still plenty of opportunity in tech.
- Ignore the doom and gloom articles that spread fear and doubt.
- Focus on improving your skills and gaining experience.
- Hard work and perseverance are essential for success in any career.

Consistent effort over time will yield results, even if it takes a few years.

If you found this video motivational, give it a thumbs up. If you disagree, feel free to dislike it. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video!

working as a backend engineer, the limitations of AI become pretty clear when you apply it daily in a professional context. yes, it's useful for generating boilerplate, explaining concepts etc etc but understanding the business requirements, having a good knowledge of the codebase and working well with colleagues are still what the job requires. complex tickets still take as much time as before so day-to-day not a lot has changed for me. if you're hoping to become an engineer and reading this- don't lose hope! hype and reality are two very different things

Hey Paul, after an almost 3 year long journey I finally got my first developer job, and at a great salary too. I lost hope multiple times but people like you and Dorian gave me the motivation to keep going and it's finally paid off. Thank you so much for all the content you've made and I hope everyone else looking for a job finds one soon, it will come when you least expect it.

Came from Primeagen. Great vid. I'm coding after forty and everything you say is true (I'm even slower - took me about 6 years!)

I don't want to get a Tech job, instead, I would like to know and understand as much as possible about how the hardware, software, networking and technology works. If I am able to create something awesome, great, if not, I'll just enjoy the knowledge.

If you don't give people with tech skills jobs of a sort, you encourage them to misuse those same skills in some other way for profit.

My experience could hardly be more opposite of hard work paying off. I started learning to code when going to college for CS back in 2013, tried to look for internships wherever I could find them, but to no avail. Have been looking for any sort of project that can get me real-world experience for the past six years after graduating, but everyone has insane expectations for what you can do when offering very little to no pay, jobs require you to relocate on your own dime and provide crappy benefits, and the climbing the ladder has become impossible because the bottom rungs keep getting sawed off. I've had to broaden my job search to anything that I can get an interview for, including filing papers or driving trucks because I've been living at home for so long taking care of my last surviving parent.

I've been in and out of the self taught path for 5 yrs now. My siblings have already earned thousands doing some other online gigs while I'm stuck teaching myself coding. It sucks

I'm giga lucky I got an internship for QA testing, I boredline do nothing on the job.
I have so much free time that all i do is speak to software developers and QA engineers, I also get given small projects to complete.
Perfect for my CV and apparently they always offer a job to interns.

I stopped for about a month. But I gave myself a date to return to programming. Learning Greek at the moment and figure I will return back to programming in October of this year. But I stopped because I lost complete motivation after coding straight for 2 and a half years straight non-stop, every day. Felt burnt out a bit and needed to take a break for a bit. It's true it has been really discouraging to hear so many negative things, you start to lose hope. But I guess this break for me is a bit of a reset. Maybe learning React isn't the best approach? since it is popular, maybe I will return and focus on older technology like Java or even .NET. I think I was focused on too many things at the same time to be honest. My tech stack was React with Django. I will know more or less on the date of my return.
Great video and thanks for your content as always.

Really loved the video! Just one small bit of feedback: the background music was a little distracting/loud through the speakers. I would just tone that back a little.
