For quite a long time, when ever people use the term Diminishing Returns when explaining the value of formula knowledge, I have put in the effort to explain why the term is misplaced.
It's unbeliveably common.

I'm gonna repeat the explanation here, but I start to question the value in doing it. Please let me know if you enjoy the correction or perhaps don't see the value in the difference.

To explain what Diminishing Returns actually means I'm gonna give an example of what the effect could look like in Borderlands 3.
Remember: The example doesn't matter. It's the math principle.

Let's say gear could come with effects that granted +5 to magazine size.
If you had more than one item with this stat on it, the second copy would only actually provide +4.
Adding a third would only provide +3.
Adding a fourth would only provide +1.

In essence if you want to invest into a certain stat you are able to, but you will encounter a function that is put in place to handle game balance, while keeping investment sources equal.

When stacking Gun Damage on Zane you don't encounter Diminishing Returns, but you do recieve a Relative Change that is lower than optimal.
And so the important lesson has to do with Opportunity Cost. Investing into Gun Damage comes at the absence of something that would net you a higher Relative Change.

I began playing a month ago, and I was expecting it to be difficult to build damage endgame, but it's been really easy so far. I found a guide on building Hellzerker Amara, so that fixed my skill tree. I then took a few pieces of advice from it and some other youtube videos- revolter and it's piss. Then, farmed a God-roll Hellshock since the pistol was carrying me already on mayhem at then end of TVHM. Rerolled Action Skill start of my revolter, terror generating on my it's piss, terror skulls on my AAA (exists for that purpose alone), added a Hellwalker, Breath of the Dying, Light Show, and a few other good weapons to my kit. I then added bonus element to everything. I'm on Mayhem 11 and my Amara has trivalized everything so far except the Skag of Survival

"Cloning Hunter Seeker" when your playing Bloody Harvest modes is very handy for getting rid of the skulls on Amara Scraptrap Prime for example gets manic

I built a Moze that can use ANY gun, even white or green, and still demolish. No Toboggan, no Infernal Wish, no Company Man, no Guardian 4N631, no tricks. Pure, clean, no cheats, no glitches. SledgeHammer Moze, "The Red Dot Eraser".

I believe VM is more than 500% I think it maxes out at 6x base walking speed and it’s like 640%/128%per point for some reason it’s boosted by kill still effect which can make it get up to 900% and then u can get 10/5. Just proving your point specing gun damage is a bit silly on Zane

Can someone clear this one for me.
If I'm using Clairvoyance rifle (which is cryo element), will on action skill next 2 mags boost 100% damage via cryo element, will this damage stack (cryo weapon+ 100% damage cryo annointement).
And will my Revolter 200% electric buff stack with some grenade or weapon which annointement also gives Electric damage on action s
kill end ?
Or should I use each piece of gear with a separate from used element damage bonus on skill action end

Question: if you have an anointment that increases, say, shock damage by 100% for the next 2 mags after using an action skill, does it work when paired with a shock weapon? Would it be more useful to run a different element?

on my case i just gave up on doing endgame builds, i am playing on switch and there is no way so far to get a ASS anoint in a revolter which is necessary to almost all build guides in web

Would love an anoint breakdown! Like can i use a "150% weapon damage during fade away" and then swap to an "ele damage after action skill ends" weapon to always have a boost active?

Moze with the plaguebearer and flipper, super soldier shield, pearl of knowledge artifact, bloodletter mod. Skill tree, bottomless mags and demolition woman. And some in shield of retribution. I ignore iron bear mostly. Mose slays. I walk through the maliwan takedown like superman.
