It worked very well a few days ago, but after adding it to a web app today, It sends the code, but it is not delivered to some phones. It failed to deliver on about 50% of the phones.

how about just verification? without the authentication login function..

It doesn't make sense to ask for a phone number on their phone...which inherently has the phone number. Their number should be an automatic default to populate the phone number that they are using, and not have to redundantly enter it. You are introducing an opportunity for user error by allowing the user to mess up the phone number: bad UX.
