Bystials Engine Explained Very Quickly and Easily - Yugioh

Here’s how the Bystial Engine works.

Bystials are an archetype of Dragon monsters based around banishing a LIGHT or DARK monster from either player's graveyard to Special Summon themselves to the field.
Usually, this effect is Spell Speed 1, but it becomes a Quick Effect while your opponent controls a monster.
This lets the Bystials interact with the opponent's graveyard in a very similar way to D.D. Crow .
Each Bystial also comes with its own beneficial effect, either when on field or in the graveyard.
Saronir (Saron-ir) ( Bystial Saronir ) is a foolish for Branded Spells, Traps and Bystial monsters.
Druiswurm ( Bystial Druiswurm ) and Baldrake ( Bystial Baldrake ) are removal for your opponent’s monsters.
And Magnamhut ( Bystial Magnamhut ), the best of them all, lets you search for any Dragon ( Blue-Eyes White Dragon ) monster during the end phase after it’s Special Summoned.
But as well as the regular Bystial monsters, there’s also The Bystial monsters, these monsters aren’t D.D. Crows, but come with their own powerful effects with the most important one being The Bystial Lubellion .
Lubellion lets you search for any Bystial Monster and can also be used to place a Branded Continuous Spell or Trap to your field - This usually grabs a Branded Beast for removal or a Branded Regained for free advantage.
Bystials are currently seeing play for how effective they are at countering Tearlaments ( Tearlaments Kitkalos ), a strategy filled with DARK monsters that have graveyard effects to Fusion Summon that the Bystials can put a stop to.
As a result, the Bystials you play, and their ratios, are very dependent on how much you want to counter Tearlaments, and how well the Bystials synergize with your own deck.

You know the Bystials mean business when the average Monsters are essentially bosses on their own.

Should probably mention the Bystial boss monster Alba Los as it's started to see play in the OCG. Like Lubellion it's a light and can be special summoned from the hand or graveyard however the summoning requirement is tributing 2 Bystial's however the main trade off is Alba Los negates the effects of all Link, Fusion, Ritual, Xyz and Synchro monsters with it's on field effect an effect which does not activate and is applied as soon as Alba Los hit's the field. It also has a hilarious effect where if it's removed from the field by an opponents card effect it banishes every monster in both players face-down extra deck until the end of the opponents next turn.

Someone at Konami really loves Tearlaments. Not only are they Tier 0 with Ishizu, but once someone noticed Bystials do a pretty good job of countering them, they create Tearlaments Kashtira, which basically says "If your opponent tries to Bystial, don't. And put more cards in your graveyard for good measure."

Zero introduction, straight into the content of the video, impressive

If you play D/D/D, you should know that you can use Small world and Bystials to search any D/D/D monster card. Bystials also make going into Baronne de Fleur on follow up easy with D/D Orthros.

I think, that after Cyberstorm Access is released that Saronir will see much more play, and that only because of how good Branded Etude and Blazing Branded King are.

I like how Saronir saw the least play, but is limited to 1 in MD

Powercreep went really out of hands with tear, bystials and kashtira.

Given Starfrost (where Tear is from) and Albaz are the two major multi-archetype Card storylines at the moment, which do you think will lead to another Star God? (Both feel similar to World Legacy, and that ended with one)

My biggest gripe with these things is that instead of answering the decks they're designed to deal with, those decks can just incorporate them instead, outside of very specific exceptions like Mathmech and Drytron that were viable and even strong before these things came out. Almost every other deck that's "weak" to these things can just run them as extenders and/or interruption tools, meaning all they've accomplished is forcing an entire subset that consists of THE MOST COMMON TWO ATTRIBUTES IN THE GAME to all share the same 3-12 cards.

And then a set later the Ishizu cards came out just to completely invalidate not just those decks, but every single other deck that wants to interact with the graveyard. So not only do these cards get to accomplish almost nothing, but then get invalidated almist immediately afterwards. Brilliant. Though once the next wave of Chaos support hits the TCG, these things will start to matter A LOT, even if you have to run all 12 to get one to stick.

Would love to see a Earth Machine Engine video one day. There are so many variants: ancient gear, infinitrack, machina and the new vernusylph cards have really made this deck more consistent. They are so slept on! Therion King Regulus can also be easily searched out and is an Omni negate with a free summon when attached with a gearframe.

playing master duel regularly reading this cards just makes feel very bad for the future of it, when a hand trap enables plusses, bosses, pops and your dinner as well.
