US OPEN watching Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal Practice

It's time for the U.S. Open. 

This World-Class Tennis event is the last major grand slam event on the pro tennis circuit and is the premier sporting event for the boro of Queens and arguably NYC. 

The open is held on the beautiful grounds of Flushing Meadows adjacent to Corona Park at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.  The newly renovated Louis Armstrong stadium and the new roof over Arthur Ashe stadium completed in 2017 make this an exciting venue for world class tennis. 

This year perennial favorites Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer vie for a chance at the title with the like of Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and others. On the Women's side defending American champion Sloane Stephens looks to repeat with Serena William on the comeback trail after missing last year due to pregnancy. 

This vlog feature practice the practice session of Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal. 

Daniel went during qualifying week with preceeds the actual tournament in which unseeded players play matches for a rare chance to qualify for the Open. Qualifying week is free to the public every year and it is also a great opportunity to see seeded or ranked players practice for the tournament next week and to see former champions like Martina Narvitalova and Michael Chang play as well as some up and coming junior players.

We almost got tickets through Stefs job and went there! Dang it, could have gone together! She is a huge Rafa fan, really cool how you were able to go watch! Definitely a perk of many to live there!
