The Weakness in Me by Joan Armatrading, covered by Reina del Cid and Toni Lindgren

Happy Sunday morning, all! Hope you enjoyed this Joan Armatrading song. If you did, be sure to check out her version at the link above!

As most people are aware, this past week has been marked by our country and many countries around the world grappling openly with systemic racism in the form of protests and a broad anti-racism movement on social media. Toni and I took this last week to reflect on what we as artists with a platform can do to be part of that struggle. While we have a lot of work to do in taking a more active role, here's what we're doing right now:

We are donating the Google Adsense revenue for this video to three Black-led organizations that are doing important work in protecting the wellness and rights of the Black community. If you have the means, we encourage you to join us in donating as well:

The ACLU:

The Black Trans Protesters Emergency Fund:

Great song. Dynamic lyrics. Great melody line. I can relate to that song. Been there. They capture being in the position of not wanting to hurt the person you are with, yet thru no fault of your own being attracted to another & feeling you can't help it.

Thanks for this beautiful version of great Joan Armatrading's „Weakness in me“. I'm a fan since the 80's (one of the few in Germany) and happy to hear that she`s not forgotten and still an inspiration for young musicians. Keep going and stay healthy!

Thank you, Reina. I've loved Joan Armatrading's passion-filled music for a long time. It's most fitting to cover a black artist this Sunday morning.

Those of us around back in the day know what a great performer/singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading was and you do this song real justice and hopefully remind people to catch up with Joan's work. They will not be disappointed.

It's been so long since I've seen anyone do a cover of a Joan Armatrading number. I loved her way back in the '70's and one of my favourite songs was "Rosie" along with The Weakness in Me! Great job folks!!!
