I like the Plastic Cutting Board Idea. I lost interest in the Painters Tape Stenciling concept when the Paint would bleed through the Stencil. Exactly like you mentioned. Thank you.

Hi! I know this video is old but I just stumbled on it. I have acquired a ton of scrap Corian from a customer of mine. I started making coasters with them. The black Corian works phenomenally well when engraving but not so well with the lighter colors. With that said, I started to mask with blue painters tape and engraved to spray paint afterwards. My issue is that the paint doesn't adhere well to the Corian. I bought enamel spray paint for models and it works great when applied to the Corian before engraving but afterwards it wants to peel up. I need something that is going to work after the abuse of the bottle/can over time. I am not sure if that after the engraving there is residual residue from the tape or not. I didn't know if maybe you have any ideas or not. The black ones I did without taping and painting came out beautiful and sell out so quickly that I didn't have time to experiment with the painted ones. I only have one machine and it is a very low 5watt diode.

I hate using blue painters tape when laser engraving and doing paint fill. The tape always is hard to remove and leaves a glue residue on the project.

I have seen others use transfer tape instead of masking tape. Your thoughts on transfer tape?

Is this supposed to work with IR laser over metal surface? I tried it and it did not cut through the tape. it just dyed my surface blue with the project instead of actually engraving.
