What do you love & dislike about Reformation?

I make sustainable-ish clothing for a living, and can tell you that lightweight fabric absolutely cuts costs. However, based on their prices, there is no excuse for not using better quality, more durable fabric, which is a huge factor in sustainability. I’m so tired of flimsy, sheer (and most of all, ill fitting) women’s clothing, which is what started me making my own.

this just further proves the point that just because a clothing item is listed at a higher price point, does not mean that the product is higher quality or even sustainable.

This is why I gave up "sustainable fashion". It seems everyday more dirt gets dug up on a another brand considered sustainable. Personally I have found minimalism, choosing natural fibers (cotton, wool, ext), and changing how you wash your clothes to be way more productive. Is a perfect system? No but it's at least something.

I'm so obsessed with reformation and wanted to buy from them for so longgg This is kinda upsetting but thanks for sharing, I had no idea !

The amount of ppl who don't know about this brand is genuinely surprising to me only because a lot of the earlier influences I used to watch (back when the girls used to make hauls and do monthly favorites videos) all wore this. It was considered “luxury” fashion at one point.

I come from a small East European country and I had 0 knowledge of what fast fashion, sweat shops, etc. are about 10 years ago. Then, I got a chance to study abroad, went to Australia, took a course in Business Management, and one of our courses asked for a report on Sweatshops and Child Labour. Ironically, that same year, 2013, the Rana Plaza disaster happened, and it was heavily covered in Au media. I did A LOT of research, and my mind was just blown by how little I knew and how f***ed up the fashion industry is. (Not just fashion, tech industry is equally bad)
Since then, I prefer my thrift shops and domestic brands, with an occasional H&M shirt or a pair of jeans (just because they're cheap and honestly, at my size (height and weight combined) I don't have a lot of options in today's fashion economy).

Honestly Reformation’s stuff is so thin. I’ve had their stuff and it does legit feel like the same material you’d get in h&m. I’ve paid a lot of money for Prada or Burberry but their stuff feels thick and high quality.

I first heard about reformation from Bestdressed Ashley and I aspired to one day be able to afford reformation. Not anymore

I make sustainable clothing. Recently made my first dress out of 45 oc/ 55 hemp and dyed it with chestnut hull. I’ve never had one of their pieces, but seeing them photographed on resale I could always tell something was off. I am disgusted by greenwashing. It drowns out the real ones (& they do exist, just take work to find).

I love their designs. I used to buy it at full price until i realized they have sales 2x a year. Summer & winter sales at 50% off! So i just wait for those now. Ive never had issues with the quality either.

I've never heard of this brand. But I always think people are lying when they say safe or greenwashing lol I always approach these brands carefully because they usually use made-up things for advertising.

Love this, Zoe :) Can you please make a video about Revolve? I’ve always been curious about its quality and sustainability, and to me the brand has been a black box!

I was once in love with this Brand from the far. When I finally bought something from them I was shocked at how bad quality it was (talking about their rayon dresses)
Up to this day I only have two cotton tops from then which are beautiful but everything else is a hard pass.

In my opinion I feel like the problem isn’t totally the brands I think it’s also the consumers bc a lot of people nowadays think that they can only wear one outfit once and never wear it again. And that is something that causes ppl to buy more. And honestly nowadays it doesn’t matter where you buy from everyone will judge it. “You buy from SHEIN?? You’re supporting fast fashion” “You thrift your clothes?? You’re taking away from the needed” and if you do it yourself stills a problem bc “where did you get the materials?” And while yes fast fashion is hurting the planet bc ppl just throw away clothes. For some of us fast fashion is the best way to go especially on an emergency. You can’t please everyone.🤷🏻‍♀️

I would love for you to do a comparison video showcasing a a company that “seems” to do everything right like Christy Dawn. Their style is very niche, but their production practices seem to warrant the high hight cost of their products from growing their own regenerative cotton or using Deadstock fabrics for their dresses. They also have a factory in L.A.

Their clothes are actually very cute and flattering (and really good quality) . I’d neverrr buy from them directly though, I always buy them at thrift shops

Tbh whilst shopping I would look at Reformation but the quality seemed really poor, it doesn’t surprise me. There’s a lot of brands with similar styles that are a lot better
