YouTube Thanks, or more officially YouTube SUPER Thanks, is a new way for creators to monetize their YouTube videos.

Previously known as Viewer Applause, this YouTube monetization feature has received a BIG shake up. So what does this new YouTube feature do now?

It adds a 'Thanks' button under videos that allows viewers to make a donation to the content creator directly from that video. This could be HUGE if you’re a creator wanting to increase revenue on YouTube.

What a great idea. It's great for the viewers and for the channels. Options I would appreciate from YouTube are (and maybe they have it) an anonymous button and a button to remove the amount from public view.

Great video Justin.
Only issue is the “once enabled by YouTube”. Super Thanks has been sitting in my studio not available for 12 months or more. I’ve contacted them several times asking why my channel, which has been monetized for 3 years and has 16.5k subs hasn’t had this feature “switched on” yet, when other creators with less subs and only in the YPP for less than 12 months have it. Makes literally no sense and is incredibly frustrating as a creator. Just another example of YouTube not being transparent with creators

Great info! I think mine is already turned on. I remember doing it a few months ago.

Problem with this is, the creator only gets round about 50% of it. YT takes 30% plus tax. Thats one thing I rly don't like about it. I wanna support a creator and I THINK I give him 50 bucks or something, but he only recieves 25 to 30 bucks. This is not a donation like Twicht did it.

Hmmm.... I am monetized but never used "Super" anything. So my process was to first try to decypher a 7 page legal document that was not mentioned in your video. I gave up trying to figure out all the mumbo-jumbo I was agreeing to and signed. This led me to Super Chat & Super Stickers along with the notice you presented telling me that after I already agreed to whatever it was I agreed to....It was coming in all rather disappointing.
