I wanted to get your opinion on how does one marry topical maps to keyword research? Say, i develop a topical map with 4-levels, do i then find low difficulty and moderate traffic keywords for the topics at the 4th level and create articles/landing pages/tools with different search intent?

Or, are topical maps and keyword research to be treated as seperate frameworks of designing your content strategy?

Would love to hear your take on this. Has been quite a confusing topic for me.
