This is why he is one of my favorite characters in SEED. He’s an absolute pragmatist. If the enemy can ready your mind, don’t try to do some mediative nonsense to close off your mind, just make them not want to eavesdrop on your thoughts anymore.

They say the BK suits were superior against the Gundams but frankly, in a fair 1v1 fight like what we see here, the odds are actually even. The IJ Type 2 and the Shi-ve.A are practically identical suits with similar stengths. But in this battle, Athrun showed everyone why he's never lost a melee fight in SEED mode

apparently in the novel it was quite explicit, Athrun thought how smooth Cagalli's skin feels, her scent etc, to the point Shura could felt it was almost real
