How the METAVERSE will CHANGE TRAVEL as we know it

13 ways that the metaverse will change travel for the better! Will the coming of the Metaverse be the end of travel as we know it? Will we live entirely in virtual reality and never have to get on airplane ever again? Lot's was announced by the big tech giants about the Metaverse recently; Facebook. Microsoft, and more. And I wanted to share my opinion and a bit of future forecasting about how I think the Metaverse will benefit travel.

A very unusual and unexpected live stream, Chris! I found it very enjoyable considering your background in computer science; you definitely know your stuff and it was easy to understand you. In my opinion, the Metaverse is very fascinating and it's amazing how rapid technology is evolving. However, in terms of travel, it will never replace actual traveling. The Metaverse can certainly be used as an effective helping tool, that's for sure.

Or if I do go somewhere for real for real and real life not in VR yes I can put on my VR shades and it'll tell me exactly where to go and I won't have to ask anybody or use my translator book my translation stuff will come right up on the screen probably thank you

I see amazing opportunities. The "travel times": see how places were thousands years ago. Or places too far from me which I probably will have no time or money to go "in person". And remembering travel is a life changing thing, we must think about those with disabilities or no money. Better virtually than nothing. Of course, there's still a lot place that I want put my feet on, like California, next month!

Virtual reality can't replace travel, of course, but I can see it as a money-maker in the case of people who are unable to travel themselves and will only ever experience really cool places virtually.

Xbox has had a video game of Disneyland where you can walk around the park, meet characters, etc. It is not anything close to physically visiting. As a work from home during the pandemic collegaue my perspective is that the virtual will never replace in person but is another tool in the toolbox. As we have been allowed to resume travel recently I think we are learning when we need to be somewhere vs when a remote tool will work. My job will probably convert from 60-70% travel to 30-35%

I would rather personally experience going to see the Roman Colosseum or the ruin at Chicken Itza than experiencing it through Virtual reality .

Linking tourism or business trips with metaverse sounds very attractive - it is green as well. I hope the upcoming project called Ertha will feature virtual tourisms and business meetings in metaverse.

We are supposed to be going to Vegas for Christmas but just heard America might announce a 7 day quarantine period, how likely do you think this is?

I have had so many times when I have booked what I thought was a reasonable, safe hotel and then I felt like I have failed my family when we get there. I want to know what the room looks like AND what the neighborhood looks like. That way there is no deception.

Nah Chris, I only travel to argue with check in staff and sit on the aircraft for 8 hours next to a guy with terrible personal hygiene who has to use the seat belt extender...this Metaverse will ruin my fun :)
