I feel bad for the employees, but I blame it on the corporate leadership. They got too greedy and didn’t plan for the eventual correction that followed in conjunction with poor quality…not surprised. These CEOs need to listen to customers or face they’re wrarh!

The stock (WGO) is flat of the year, but as a long-term investor, up 17% in the past five years.
Grand Design owner here, not saying that the frame issues are not real, but this too will pass. In the mid 2000’s it was delamination of the walls, then refrigerator fires.
Owning a 2024 GD Imagine I can share with you the $1, 300 worth of sealant it needs at only ten months old. A call to GD and it’s being covered by warranty. Note, sealants are only covered for the first 90 days of ownership. And as far as the dealership hype, I was able to get service in a week. Great news!

E Trailer is the best. Superb customer service and product / parts availability. The new installation service sounds like a good deal for us DIY owners who refuse to have their RV sitting on some ****ty dealer’s lot for months waiting for repairs. Good Job ETrailer!

Camping World tried to take over the rv world in the UP, but QUICKLY closed it’s location in Ishpeming

I was in Forest City 3 weeks ago for service. Plant was closed and everyone was laid off for the week outside of service. They are scheduled to be off Thanksgiving week and two weeks at end of the year. So that's 4 weeks over three months or 1/3 of the time.

I was at Forest City in May 2024. It look bad compared to my other yearly service visits.
Activity at the manufacturing plant looked like it was down about 50%
Less techs in the repair center too.
Not busy which was surprising

So I work for Winnebago in Forest City and yes, they actually let 35 engineers and upper management go a couple weeks ago and said they wouldn't be letting anymore people go like hourly paid people. Thanks for letting me know that was a lie. I have found other places where they also say the same thing.

Huh I've been strongly considering picking up a GE heat pump to add to bedroom as we transition to colder temps, sounds like my indecision might have served me well, not sure if the energy efficient heat pump is on the list. I was mostly interested because they're rated down to 25F, much lower than most of the RV heat pumps (though still far short of residential units that can go down to -20F which is colder than the coldest temp ever recorded where I live)

It isn't just poor construction that is causing Winnebago Towables problems. The quality of their design elements has also gone down which I think is also affecting sales. Over the last couple of model years they have gone to things like open cabinets, lower quality interior finishes and removal of ovens in their trailers. They still expect to charge a premium price for their trailers that now aren't any different than many of the more budget minded brands. The cheapening of features was the reason we didn't replace our totaled 2018 Micro Minnie with a newer version. I'm not sure folks realize that Clark has more work than fixing Winnebago's build quality problems. I think he also needs to do something much harder which is decide if Winnebago's trailers will be a premium brand deserving of their higher prices or not. If he keeps things the way they are fixing build quality still won't fix their sales problem.

I have friends from the Charles City Iowa plant who lost their job and even more who are facing layoff in Forest City. I worked there for a few years. This could destroy an entire community for Forest City Iowa and Lake Mills Iowa

There was a Camping World close to me in the Belleville area but has been shut down and some kind of work has been going on there. They still have their sign at the location and some big dumpsters but has been closed for over 2 years. There is a National RV just down the road. The next closest CW is in Chelsea, way too far to go, and can get better prices on
