The latest-generation Audi A6 saloon hasn’t reached dealers yet, but the German brand has wasted little time in revealing the Avant estate version.

A rival for the BMW 5 Series Touring and Mercedes E-Class Estate, the latest A6 Avant gets the same evolution in styling as its four-door sibling.

Audi keeps breaking up the mass of the lower front bumper on their new family cars with broken surfacing and endless trim tat. It's a fussy mess and incoherent. It's all very odd and more like what you'd expect from the likes of BMW with it's frumpy and ill-proportioned SUV range. Is this the effects of pandering to moronic focus groups or the result of company-men interference? What's going on with the design teams at these brands?
