I just bought this AF in May. It is a 2024 in carbon, I full time in it and I love it. Only thing I'm missing is the grab handle. I'm on the roof frequently sweeping snow off the solar panels and it is the sturdiest roof I have been on after owning 4 other campers. The 12 volt fridge is a game changer. The storage is enormous so much so I repurposed the closet next to the fridge as a pantry with sliding pullout racks. Thanks for your informative review.

I bought the 2024 865 last year, Absolutely Love it!!! It’s our second 865, we upgraded from our 2017.
The 12v Fridge is great & easily powered by my dual Lithium Batteries, 2 batteries is a must and came standard from my dealer in Alberta Canada. The fridge does draw a bit of power and the solar at 400w keeps up. I find I can run 5 to 6 days without needing to plug into shore power.
The only 2 items we don’t like…
the Sink scratches easy and is honestly too big so we dropped in a 1/2 plastic sink that makes it more usable. Second is the Stove top iron grates are thin and not near as good as our older 2017 865 we owned previously.
We run a 2024 F350 Platinum Tremor with Air Bags and Hellwig Sway Bar - BOTH A MUST THIS CAMPER IS TOO HEAVY FOR STOCK SUSPENSION.

Thanks for doing this video. Would like to see AF put in blinds similar to Lance. Another visual improvement would be to take that back and side backsplash all the way up. The partial height makes it look like an after thought but I think the new pattern is an improvement.

It's at the end of 2024. Wishing all rv manufacturers would get rid of the "cable tv" connections as well as the out door speakers. My parents at the ages of 70 even have a bluetooth speaker.

Like it :) Yes for the long slide-out tray, no slides, all those thermal windows to get views and let in light, single-piece wet bath, real space in the kitchen to prepare and eat food, and a floor plan that doesn't require you to face the bathroom when eating. Can we see an option for a DC-DC charger instead of the generator? I hate being reliant on dump stations and the need to carry water just to put it into a black tank. Could we have an option for a dry toilet with a urine diverter? (blank tank eliminated/more space for other tanks) Note to dealers and NW: this Windswept is my least favorite upholstery choice. Thank you for the tour!

Exterior color can show narrower lines in black.
Inside is not bad but love the beauty of natural wood grains
Plz note 4 seasons camper
I walked in the 865 but would rather have a 8’ foot print truck camper. Not as cramped.
I think these AF’s are the best even though I own a lance non slider

If I was a semi rich single old man who could afford $55k for a truck camper and another $70k-$90k for a pickup truck that could carry this thing effortlessly I’d probably have it all and be dragging my boat up to Oahe to go walleye fishing.
Unfortunately I am not any of those things.

Mixed feelings. As a tall guy, I love the AF models because they are Tall Guy friendly and I can't fit in many other makers' models. Also, it is clear when you are in AF that they are well made compared to many other mass producers and they are priced well. On the other hand, it is frustrating they use archaic appliances and power systems. With many competitors, it is possible to option 2-3000 watt inverters, lithium batters that are in a heated compartment so they can be charged below freezing, far more efficient heaters and air conditions that can be run off the inverter, an alternator to charge the batteries while driving, induction cooktops, communications systems and proper wiring for use with the inverters - all of which means you can do away with a generator and propane. Those options would add significant cost (partly offset by no need for propane or a generator), but it would be nice to have the option of modern systems, especially an inverter.

Meanwhile, AF is still hawking AM/FM radios from the 1980's.

I've thought about buying an old AF (as stated, they are well-made and can last a long time) and gutting its systems to put in modern systems, but it would probably be more cost efficient to go to one of the quasi-custom or full-custom manufacturers.

What about a white cabinets would be nice and a solid pattern for the seats

Looks like a great rig! I do question the colors inside, but as an artist I would be picky about that. The cushions and valances have a motel room chair seat look about them because of the pattern. I question the knife storage behind the stove top... seems like a burn accident waiting to happen. But the features and the layout and all the important stuff in the back of a truck, no less, is awesome! Great head and shower. Can it be ordered without the graphics on the sides?

It’s really nice truck camper.. I wish Northwood manufacture would do a collaboration with Pendleton for a cozier look both companies in Oregon.. just saying that would be really nice!! I do love the outdoor graphics not too busy.

Must have propane option for refrigerator, We love ours in older 992. It will really cool it down but AC can’t cool it done that much using 12v.

I WISH that this was available in my region.
I have been trying to find a Truck Camper Dealership, but sadly, none of the RV Facilities offer them anymore.
This unit is exactly what I have been looking to obtain. I love the retro layout, it is PERFECT for what I want it for! Especially the NO SLIDE OUT Dinette unit, stove WITH an OVEN, Duel Fridge, one piece wet bath and with a Porcelain Toilet - Plastic Toilets crack way too quickly and with light use by even by slender people!
One Question? Is this a 4-Season setup unit?

is the AC soft start? would it run on a normal 15A household shore power?

The tan/beige and geometric pattern are so dated. Why can’t manufacturers start using color?

The fabric is dated but the painted cabinet doors against the wood grain frames looks terrible. It looks like someone replaced the doors. It does show as very spacious. Just the design is lacking.

OMG: MSRP is 55K. That's crazy. Drop the price to 25k and I might consider it.

The 2025 Northwood Arctic Fox 865 truck camper has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $55, 792
