The day we realised that by our own will and wisdom we could not hope to live a long, joyful, complete life; the day we saw the error of our ways, that we were not meant to live our lives by our lonesome, but in fellowship with our Heavenly Father, who is the source of all and on whose Word all is founded- on that day, Our Father was waiting with His arms wide open to receive us back home. We were guilt-ridden and sorrowful for all our years of foolishness, full of regret and loss for all the time we spent trying to fight by insufficient strength.
But God, our Father, met us not with guilt and judgement but delight, not sorrow but joy; He met us not with regret but relief, not with a sense of loss but ALL angels in Heaven rejoiced that the lost sons had finally returned home.
The prodigal Son returned home hoping to be accepted even as a servant, but the Father covered him with the robe of royalty, transforming everything that resembled a peasant into righteous kingship. The Father could never see his son as a servant. He always saw his son. He will forever see us as such, after all He created us! It is we that fail to see Him and ourselves as we really are.
Dear brothers and sisters, God is standing at the gate, looking out for his sons and daughters. Her gave his only begotten Son so that you would find the way back home. The way is Jesus! Buyel'ekhaya.
