These players need to learn how to hold their bows correctly! They should to consult Christopher Simpson's DIVISION VIOL, and not French baroque sources!!! Of course, "FRETWORK" (what a name!) are grossly over-rated, and in no way comparable with the purity and beauty of the Dolmetsch consort recording of a Weelkes PAVAN a 6 in the 1920s! Arnold Dolmetsch would turn in his grave if he could see/ hear this lot: viol playing has got worse and worse and less and less authentic since AD revived the repertoire, thanks to upstart consorts such as this one.
