Mellotron M4000D - Card 4

Note: I had "prematurely" posted this video a year ago but pulled it down after a week by request of the manufacturers involved. Sorry about that, all is cool now! 😎

These are the sounds available on the Mellotron M4000D expansion card number 4, which will work in the original full sized M4000D, the Mini M4000D, and the M4000D Rack. (expansion cards are not compatible with the Mellotron Micro). I made this video so people that are interested in purchasing the card will know what they are buying. ;-)

Orchestron - 0:00 (single instruments)
Optigan - 1:58 (single instruments)
- 6:30 (accompaniments)
- 17:17 (HiFi accompaniments)
TalentMaker - 25:55 (single instruments)
- 27:05 (accompaniments)

On this card there are individual sounds that can be played "normally" (solos and chords as on a piano or organ etc) and then there are sounds that are to be played one key at a time because they are either pre-defined chords or an accompaniment section. Accompaniments might be a single instrument like guitar or an entire band. There are also keys that that have percussion parts, sound effects, and melodic full band fills for intros and outros. Typically the top octave's black keys have the drums and fills on them.

Hey I have the Mellotron and an integra. Does running it into the integra give you a stereo output so I don’t have to constantly play with my Uad console settings just to record the Mellotron

The lead sounds aren't any good, even in a lo-fi charming kinda way. But I really love the accompaniments, both lo-fi and hi-fi versions. $500 is VERY steep for that, but I'm tempted.

Vox Humana ticked me off. It's not keyboard responsive. A lot of the sound cards have the same flaw. I don't get it why? I have sound cards 02-03-04-05-06 and a lot of the presets are just unusable. Some of the sounds are good for an octave but that's it. Come on Markus, you can do better.
