this movie just broke me to pieces. the kind of film that you'll never want to watch the second time cause its too traumatizing. super galing ng actress na gumanap kay iska. i felt the loneliness, struggle and desperation of iska's situation. I was in the verge of tears watching it. most remarkable scene is when Iska was almost begging for her life so she can keep her job, but still got ignored. cue in, the cry for job regularization by the group of university students around her, everyone is shouting but no ones willing to approach her.. which is sad because this is the reality for so many filipino people. we need to be more kind to each other. this world is already fcked up as it is. kindness is better.

Napakabigat sa puso ng pelikulang ito. The ending gave me chills. Wasn’t sure how to feel about it. Overall, this film needs international recognition.

Congratulations for waking up the minds of Filipinos to unattended issues regarding the many systems we have. Kakalungkot na nakakagalit. Saludo ako sa nagawang pelikula na to. Salamat direk!

This movie is truly an eye opener.

I have a cousin who is also on the autism spectrum, but is well provided for by his family. And this movie really emphasizes how hard it is for these children to suffer even more in poverty, without the support from family and money… There is so much to say I am out of words.

The devotion of Lola Iska brought me to tears, and how much of her sacrifices are in vain when so many odds are against her. I felt mad how the orphanage dismisses her, and brought the grandson back to her in such a violent state, thus the ending…. I hope that people are more aware and have a bit more dignity in real life than the people in this movie to lend a helping hand to those who are struggling…

Sobrang galing ni Ms. Ruby and she really deserved to win the Best actress award pero we should also give credit to Pryle Gura. Sobrang galing na actor. He embodied a person with autism so well na mapapaniwala ka na totoo ito. Hands down sa buong staff, director, mga aktor na bumuo ng pelikula na ito. This will remain in my core memory tumatak talaga

We have to admit that this movie is extra depressing, not because it is just an emotional movie, but because we know that this movie truly reflects real problems of real people in real situations. Hands down to the movie production!

This movie made my heart break and ended with a verge of tears

I have an autistic brother (around 13 years old and still living with my parents, me and my younger brother) and it’s sad that most people couldn’t understand special children

poverty porn talaga ang specialty ng mga Filipino indie film makers - makatotohanan. Since 70's, eto talaga yung genre na para makilala at maipakita kung ano b talaga kalagayan ng mga mahihirap nating kababayan. Anjan yung Sa kuko ng liwanag, insiang, atsay, pamilya ordinario, babae s septic tank, live show, pila balde. pati sa GMA shows like magpakailanman.

Wonderful movie with a strong message...
Most of them don't know how to deal with an Autistic child...
They find it very difficult explaining to the world abt the kid...
Really loved the performance of the granny n the kid...
Mind blowing movie...
Had tears while watching...
It was screened in Bangalore international Film festival... 💞

One of the best indie films on Netflix. Had the privilege to watch this with my grandmother last year and had to revisit it for a political essay. The ending is spine-chilling. Props!!

Sobrang saklap ng ending nito. It broke my heart. Nakakagalit din isipin na ang unfair na nga ng mundo, unfair din yung mga tao. Nalulungkot ako na parang hindi naranasan ni lola ang maginhawa at masayang buhay. Very realistic. Could be a good eye opener to a lot of Filipinos. May mga parts lang na malikot yung cam nkakahilo manood hahaha.

When I watched this in the cinema, lahat kami nakatulala sa ending. I tried to watch in Netflix for the second time pero hanggang New Year lang ako na scene. I will watch it for the third time until I could reach that ending again. Nakita ko sa reviews na too much "poverty porn" daw atsaka traumatic ang ending. For someone like me, I need to see what happens underneath the clean blanket of being in the middle class. They say it was exaggerated but that's the reality. I remember the student we had who was exactly like Dongdong, she used to have sessions in our center. She had a mental capacity of a 1 year old with the physicality of a 9 year old. One day, we just heard, along with the other sad truths, she drowned in a nearby river of her home. That's reality. If they say it's too much, then they want us to be blind.

Just watched this on Netflix. The movie is a masterpiece. Highlights a lot of societal problems that gets pushed under the rug partly due to indifference and largely due to poverty. But can someone please explain the ending to me?

Some find the ending really sad but its the reality. There are special needs people who are adults, live with their parents in poverty and the parents pretty much on the edge of giving up. If you dont have money to treat your special child then there is no hope for them. Look how no one actually helped Iska with Dongdong other than her gambler friend. Everyone was against Iska in this film and she was sad and lonely and Dongdong is the only reason to keep her alive but Dongdong got worse and became violent so Iska did what she can only do- chain Dongdong and treat him like an animal, which she promised to not do to him. Sad reality.
