I bought this exact unit about 4 years ago for $65 CAD on ebay. It's still going strong and I've had zero issues. I also didn't know what that tool was for!

It's good to see that you've been able to upgrade your soldering iron. You may be able to calibrate the iron but I'm not familiar with that specific model, so I can't be sure. I have a Yihua hot air station without the soldering iron. It uses the same case and the handset is identical. Mine uses mains power to heat the element, so I opened to check it was properly earthed. Unfortunately, it had the earth wire just resting against the metal hot end! So I used my Dremmel to cut two slits in the inside end of the metal hot end tube to make a tab, which I bent slightly inwards, so I could push a small female spade connector on to it. Then I crimped the earth wire to the small female spade connector and plugged it on to the new earth tab. Now I am confident that the tip is properly earthed and is ESD safe too.

The unknown tool I think is a chip flicker for hot air rework. At least thats what I use it for. Put a little pressure against chip, heat, chip goes flying when it's ready (and everything else that's in the way). I actually like using it in the right situation.

Not a single solder joint was well soldered in the video! Most of them were cold joints!

for soldering, ts100 or a T12 style iron over anything else i used before.
for hot air i got the 852D, it just works and is cheap.
for desoldering and soldering large heat-sinking objects like 18650 cells a ZD-985 will do my job

I would suggest (kind of general suggestion for any soldering iron) to get some tips, especially chisel tip for through-hole soldering.

1. You have it free
2. You have not to much expierience with this kind of devices (my first soldering station)
3. It's painted with black paint?
How can I thrust your review?

I have a few Hakko 936 and 927 soldering stations in my home workshop, an unbranded 898D+ hot air station. The hot air tool has been reliable and I like it a lot. The soldering iron... well, it's the cheapest, crappiest, _crookedest_ pile of steaming 💩 I've seen since last using a cheap Radio Shack iron... No, the radio shack iron was at least straight! I leave the Soldering iron unconnected. Now the one you got looks much better, and I have to say, the LCD is VERY nice! I just have dual red LED readouts.

Is that the plus or the normal? GX16 connectors with 220v YOLO.. The tool is for lifting ics with hotter, just put it between the legs and pcb

Let me say even tough i own Yihua 995D, i dont think its really good, its fine for beginner but it has its issues. I have had to replace the soldering iron twice because temperature sensor inside the iron broke, the replacement parts are cheap tho. If i would buy soldering and hotair station i would be buying something from Hakko or Quick, much more expensive but the quality difference is noticeable.

Do you know where I could get a replacement soldering iron?

It definitely looks great! 😀
The part you didn't know what it is... I have no idea too, but looks like a great thing to make a foam cutter! 😂

I purchased this soldering station on your advice over your link ;-)

The thing you do not know what is for is for desoldering. You put the thin wires under the pins of an IC and it will pop off once the solder is molten. It's not a very good tool, but the Chinese likes to include it.

One suggestion! Buy rosin core solder please...the soldering was painfull to watch you how the solder refused to fuse on the metal.
