I like how he remembers that many people don't have a lot of money to buy the more expensive iPad, unlike a lot of review youtubers that looked down upon the budget iPad and hailed the iPad Pro and new Air.

Edit: For me personally, I would like the iPad air 4 as I feel like treating myself to something expensive once in a while (the last time I did that was in 2016 with my iPad mini) but it's a nice thought and 2nd choice especially if I didn't have enough budget. But everyone is different and a person's view changes from time to time depending of the mood and situation. So I have no reason to argue with someone about this.

I finished my university using iPad 4 (from 2012). It had everything I needed for that time. That old iPad is still with me, it obviously got slower with time and doesn’t support some apps anymore, so I’m finally upgrading to iPad 2020, hope it will serve me for just as long as that old model :) Edit: I bought it! Apple pencil is something else, I’m having so much fun lettering and painting!

Your father was my mentor in college and, next to my own parents, probably had the biggest influence on me (particularly in my taste in film and literature...and politics). In fact, my then girlfriend and I used to babysit your three oldest siblings (who were a handful). Anyhoo, after MANY years I upgraded yesterday to an 8th generation iPad and figured there would probably be a great tutorial on YouTube. I was right and what a delight to see it was made by the son of my dear old friend. And yes, you and your father's alma mater is beautiful.

32GB in 2020 is honestly unacceptable. FFS even $15 flash drives have 32GB of storage.
On budget Android tablets its acceptable because first things like the fire tablet are dirt cheap ($100) and second because you can expand storage with microSD.

But come on. There is absolutely no excuse for 32GB. Which makes the base version of this tablet nearly unusable even for a basic user unless you micromanage and waste copious amounts of time deleting and rearranging files and apps.

Every iPads since 2018 supports the Logitech crayon protocol, meaning you can use a cheap $20-40 knock off stylus with the accuracy and sometimes tilt of Apple Pencil but no pressure sensitivity.
In my opinion, the iPad pencil is too expensive for anything other than drawing and the third party options available nowadays are good enough at a great price.
