The Strategic Defence Review is expected to be published in the near future, examining the threats the UK faces and how the Armed Forces must adapt.

The SDR was commissioned by the Labour Government shortly after taking office in July 2024, and is the first externally led defence review in British history.

All very good but how do you overcome the issue of failing to get people to volunteer these days just to meet the much smaller Army that’s it is today. Something is wrong when in my day loads of us were volunteering and there were not enough slots for an Army that was more than double the size it is now.
