A true classic horror theme for solo piano. Last year I covered the main theme of the 2018 which is slightly different in the bass so I decided to work on the 1978 version with this Patrik Pietschmann setup :) I hope you like and happy halloween!

Fun fact: John Carpenter (at least the time he composed the first movie's score) could neither read nor write sheet music -- he did everything by ear. This is both lovely to listen to and to look at.

Favorite school memory was being in band class when suddenly all of the lights go out. Instinctively, I bust out this song on the keyboard infront of me and make the whole class scream. That was a good day.

Such a simple yet expert track.

First part invokes a sense of curiosity and anxiousness
Second part introduces Micheal, adding a fear element with each long strum of the keys, rising slowly to a climax
Third part feels like a chase between Micheal and somebody, like conflicting tides it rises up and down changing in tone and course just like the chase between Laurie and Micheal where it is back and forth.
4: sounds like Micheal’s triumph or unstoppable nature translating into
“You can’t escape, you could never escape to begin with” which is perfectly in character for Micheal.
