Fender Super Reverb (Full Volume)

Here is what a Fender Super Reverb souns like on full volume.
In a word its the Stevie Ray Vaughan / Texas Blues sound thats so sough after.
The problem with this amp is all you want to play on it is SRV. :)

My first amp many decades ago. I had two pedals; a Fuzz Face and Cry Baby both were fed with a sunburst finish Telecaster I paid $75 for (new ones were a whopping $150) of unknown year since no one rated Fenders by their year in those days (although it was no doubt of late-50's make). The spring reverb fascinated me; the tremolo annoyed me although you no longer needed to work a whammy bar to get the sound. I was drafted into the Army, came back on my first leave and everything had been stolen. Wish I had it all back today. Nice playing by the way.

1/2023: I just purchased a '65 Super Reverb RI. I've wanted a Super for many years, decades. Don't know why I didn't buy one before. Lots of people have played them. Not just SRV. Before and after him... I love mine. I play one now. Finally, I have one. I saw Dick Dale in Phoenix Arizona a couple of years before he died. I never got to see Stevie. I did see Hendrix 2 times with Noel and Mitch. Thanks for posting this. Love your playing and energy. Are you still here? Best Regards

I liked the way you did "Stone Free". SRV stuff was pretty good too. A cranked Super Reverb and a Strat? With some skill, you're Stevie will shine through automatically. You got chops.

If you run the output from the reverb tank into the NORMAL channel (using appropriate cable/jack) and roll off all the bass and boost the treble, you get a wonderful, clear reverb sound, more akin to a studio sound.

Kudos on the quick pick up selector switching, I've been trying to get the hang of that myself. I must have watched El Mocambo several dozen time before I noticed SRV was doing that. Blew my mind how smooth he could do it.
