Elysian Fields is Marais Project director Jenny Eriksson's electric viola da gamba project.
Recorded pre Covid-19 with post production during the months of the lockdown, Fika (pron. 'fee-ka) is a celebration of the music of Scandinavia. The recording features stunning arrangements of Swedish folk songs by group members Matt McMahon and Susie Bishop, charts by renowned Norwegian jazz pianist/composer Jan Gunnar Hoff and Sweden's e.s.t. and original pieces inspired by Scandinavia by Matt Keegan and Siebe Pogson. Impossible to categorise, this is music to savour and play over and over.
