Nick Lowe looks so happy. The Band were his earliest musical heroes, and here he is singing it as a duet with Mavis Staples. Wilco aren’t too shabby, either. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Covering the weight will never get old. It's like the perfect cover song for a group of rock musicians. It can be soulful. It can be folky. It's country. It's gospel. It's kinda like the Genesis story for modern rock and roll post-1950s. Everyone sings a verse and it kinda tells a biblical-esque story of rock history. Timeless.

Mavis is so great here. Pushing the boys, not overwhelming them. Sometimes small voices sound good with powerful ones and it's really affecting.
