Hell of a year for music. Any of those albums could have been the winner in almost any other year.

The fact that The Beatles (and Abbey Road) were still the best act around in 1969 against so many heavyweight contenders speaks volumes.

It's amazing King Crimson, Led Zep, The Stones, The Beatles and The Who coexisted in that year dropping masterpieces.

Imagine being Led Zeppelin and having your first 2 albums be among the best of the year

Zeppelin one and two tipped music on its ear, never to be the same again.

Egal was die Beatles machten es war immer hörbar und doch besonders. Keine Band hat sich in so kurzer Zeit so weiter entwickelt.

I would have picked Green River for the 1969 CCR album (still crazy to think they managed to make and release 3 studio albums in a single year).

Respect for putting King Crimson at #2, incredible record, I love the incongruity between the songs, aside from Epitaph and the title track all the songs sound pretty different and i really enjoy that dynamic, keeps it fresh and exciting
