This global downturn could have long-lasting repercussions. Given the current inflation rate, my main worry is how to optimize my savings and retirement fund which has remained stagnant at a quarter mill $ yielding almost no gains for quite some time.

Our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy >>and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

As an American I'd say we're already in a recession. We've been in a recession for the past few years.

I was told by the media that we have the strongest economy ever.

In times of war and crisis they used to make patriotic, optimistic movies to give people hope during those times.

Nowadays there's a crisis and they instead make miserable, lecturing entertainment that no one wants to watch.

We are overdue for a big correction. We printed and printed and printed. We hit 35trillion in debt and we're spending 10s of billions of dollars a day. People voting for free stuff never care about the bill.

We've been in a Recession for months if not years. Remember, they changed the definition of what a Recession was to avoid defeat in the midterms.

The current administration REWROTE THE DEFINITION of recession in order to report that "Oh no, we're not in a recession." Because if they actually went by the definition of the word (BEFORE RE-WRITING IT) we were in a recession almost 3 years ago.

Oh no it’s almost as if printing tons of money and shutting down the economy for years on end has consequences!!

Oh no, now companies will need to give customers what they want in order to compete in a cutthroat free market!

Sounds like it might be time for more:
-Govt bailouts
-Retirement funds getting destroyed
-CEOs buying more yachts and mansions
-Layoffs in every sector
-Finger pointing in Washington (Spider-man meme)
-The govt saying they need MORE power

This is a feature, not a bug.

As it turns out... taking out huge loans to hand out "free" money,
hiring hundreds of thousands of government workers to do unnecessary jobs,
paying welfare to many millions of "asylum seekers"
AND funding multiple foreign wars... are REALLY bad ideas!

Who would’ve thought mega corporations hiring people based on DEI quotas and not based on merit would’ve led to this 😱😱😱

A big thing too is we have a huge social problem in the U.S. I've worked 14 years in sales association and let me tell you customer service workers get treated extremely badly, rudely and when a nice customer comes in you notice because most are just plain awful. This is no good. It should be the reverse. If more people respected cashiers, lower workers more people would be inclined to go out and work but who wants to have things tossed at them, get cussed at or worse!? No one. We need to spread more kindness especially towards cashiers, garbage workers, mail drivers, and other low paying job workers in our society. That would surely help!

We've been in a recession for several years. They mean a depression is coming.
