Laney Crowell is changing the beauty game. After leaving Estée Lauder in 2019, she founded her own brand that aims to combine skincare with cosmetics, while also being “Earth-minded.” That means Saie products avoid ingredients considered to be carcinogens, allergens or endocrine disruptors.

“It was scary,” Crowell told NYNext about launching her own company.
“Fundraising was definitely the hardest part.” Impressively, she secured backing from Unilever with participation from Goop CEO Gwyneth Paltrow. And unlike other beauty lines founded by makeup artists and celebs, Crowell says she’s just an “everyday girl trying to look her best [and] have my skin be great.”

Fearlessness is also how she first broke into the magazine industry in New York City. Find out more in this episode of NYNext hosted by The Post’s Lydia Moynihan.
