Faroese Rowing 2/2 2019

Показать описание
This video is an example of the competition rowing culture that persists in the Faroe Islands. It contents Faroese amateur rowers living in Denmark. Today there are five Faroese rowing clubs in Denmark. Likewise, there are five Faroese rowing regattas that are held in Denmark each year - mostly “seksmannafar”, i.e. six rowers and a steerman.
Today, it is the national sport in the Faroe Islands since 1955 and there are approximately 30 clubs and seven regattas each summer. To row in special Faroese wooden boats is part of great cultural significance for the Faroese people. The Faroese competition rowing culture goes way back and is still prevalent today.
In the beginning these rowing skills were necessary for survival and a pivotal way to get between the 18 islands. These boats are especially known for being seaworthy. The building of these wooden clinker boats used to be a widespread skill, and many people build them. At the age of 52 Sámal Hansen is still one of the main builders and responsible for keeping the tradition alive. He has made over 100 of these wooden clinker boats since 1996 with four different sizes of the Faroese clinker boat for competitions.
These two rowing videos are the first official videos that I have made. During the process of making the videos, I tried getting to know Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 and learning how to edit the best possible video. I focused on pictures, sound, moods, timing, effects etc. This all started when I first put some photos into this advanced application without knowing what was up and down or how it would end up.

Føroyskur kappróður í Danmark 2019
Vit vísa á føroyskan kappróður í Danmark við fimm føroyskum róðrarfeløgum og fimm árligum stevnum við kappróðri, flest seksmannafør.
Tjóðarítrottur føroyinga síđan 1955, tó at kappróður í Føroyum er væl eldri. Í dag viđ 30 róðrarfeløgum í Føroyum og 7 árligum summarstevnum.
Í gomlum døgum var alneyðugt at rógva millum oyggjarnar og tað hevur mangan lívbjargað føroyingum. Nógvir føroyskir bátabyggjarar hava smíðað føroyskar bátar í Føroyum langt aftur í tíðina. 52 ára gamli Sámal Hansen hevur smíđað yvir 100 bátar síđan 1996. Føroyski báturin er sera sjógóður.
