New Fix for Meltdown & Spectre | Samsung Mass Production of 7nm Begins

Thanks to some MIT researchers, we have a new fix for the meltdown and spectre vulnerabilties which so plagued Intel CPUs for ages. We go through how this fix works, and more.

We also see Intel splitting up it's manufacturing divisions, probably in an effort to release the 10nm Cannonlake architecture before the heat death of the universe.

But, in better news, Samsung have begun mass production of their 7nm LPP for smartphones, which according to them has impressive reductions in power consumption while increasing performance.

We also see a new tech for SteamVR, called motion smoothing, which could help reduce the specifications requirements for virtual reality on the PC with the HTC Vive. Now, those with lower end spec GPUs can think about VR as a possible addition to their rig.

Finally, we have a report that we will be seeing Apple release Macbooks and desktop Macs with their own (well ARM powered) CPUs before too long.
