Okay, so lot of people are asking why self-love is demonic. I provided a scripture reference in the video (James 3:13-16), which states:

"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." (NKJV)

These verses state that self-seeking is one of the things that is considered demonic. Self-love is selfishness, or in other words, self-seeking. Psychology encourages us to love ourselves because its theories are based on helping people without the use of God or the Bible. Jesus tells us to deny ourselves and follow Him (Matthew 16:24), and self-love is the opposite of that. We're supposed to be seeking God instead of putting ourselves first. (I know some of you think self-love is different than putting ourselves first, but think about it. When we're loving ourselves, what's the first thing we're thinking about? Ourselves.)

As an Ex-Christian with serious self hatred issues, just... no about the self love to be demonic. That logic never made any sense to me anyways, because the less you love yourself, the less you're able to love others, which, you're supposed to do in Christianity

Self love isnt demonic. You should absolutely love yourself. Then again, if you loved yourself you wouldn't sit in a room while an old white guy told you everything you can and can't do based on a book written thousands of years ago. So maybe the church says it's demonic so they don't lose members.

How is loving myself demonic? I love who i am and what i look like, self love. Feeling that way is demonic?

No way thats demonic. I think the bible means it as in being sexually and romantically attracted to yourself.

You might want to say selfishness not self-love... That's kinda an ignorant way to say it. Loving yourself is not demonic. Ppl with low self-esteem need to love themselves. I am a mental health counselor and also a christian my entire life, and ppl that are working on self-love it is not because they need to put themselves first, it is because usually they have some reason why they either hate themselves, feel depressed, have no self worth at all, let others treat them horribly, are in or have been in abusive relationships, and are recovering from ppl putting them down or life in general putting them down. Self-care is a little different if ppl take it too far but self-love is not demonic AT ALL. SELFISHNESS and putting yourself first is. Also yes the bible says to put God first but God def wants us to love ourselves as he loves us he doesn't want us to think badly of ourselves as it leads to self-harm, self-destruction like drug abuse, alcoholism, infedelity, and all kinds of other horrible things we do to feel like we are wanted and loved when we feel empty and don't love ourselves. Yes the bible says to follow him and put him first, that doesn't mean loving yourself is putting yourself first.

I go to a Catholic school, so I learn about Jesus and God, but I DO NOT believe self love is demonic. Please love others, but also love yourself. Loving yourself will benefit your mental health and/or self esteem. It's important to have a healthy mindset, and to be healthy yourself. I'm sure the Lord would want that.
