After baggage claim to re-check in again for next flight, I think this is called 'Self-Transfer'. Do I need transit visa ?
With 'Self-Transfer' normally flights are cheaper.
In other case when I don't need to baggage claim and recheck in. Airline will handle all kind of stuff and I will claim my baggage at destination. I know in that case I don't transit visa.

Our (jan10/19) Calgary flight is scheduled to land in Amsterdam at 08:35 and our Rome connection leaves at 09:45 . Is there anough time to make the connection and do we have to go through customs? Seems like the connecting gate is a considerable distance.
