Today we are reviewing Lenovo’s top of the line ThinkStation P920 Workstation Tower. Yup, this is “The” pinnacle of ThinkStation technology, at least so far. The P920 handles the same complex applications supported on other workstations, and yes, I am talking about Independent Software Vendor certified applications. It’s designed to compete against the HP Z8 G4 and Dell’s Precision 7920 Tower Workstation, and there is definitely a case for that. There are three desktop workstations that make up Lenovo’s ThinkStation line-up. I suppose four if you count the compact version of the P520… the P520c. I have an older P720 with dual Xeon E5-2670 v3s for 24 cores, 48 threads and 128GB of DDR4-2133 Samsung ECC. Also 2 8TB WD Red drives. Paid around $1200 total. Beast of a machine and don’t know what to do with all the horsepower lol 😂

Show its power supply connectors. I purchased hp z640 last year it contains only 2 6pin connectors for the gpu while it supports gpu upto rtx 3080. while rtx 3070 have 2 8pin connectors, while some rtx cards have 2 6pin and 1 8pin connect while hp z640 don't have much connectors. How i can give power to card which contain 2 6pin and 1 8pin ? 6-8 pin convertor can't provide full power to the card. Second when you make about work stations tell about power supply connectors and also about latest card and their power connectors also. Thanks.

I always liked the look and build of the P920, but seems like its much rarer to find refurbished ones compared to the Dell T7920, and when I do, the P920 is overpriced by a large margin for the same and in many cases lower spec hardware configuration.

I never hear someone mentioning if the p920 is good for 3d animation and video editing.
There are no video mentioning about it. Every video i see is just about the specs.

Unfortunately, my p920 workstation is getting slower and slower. Not sure how to fix it. Can some one help me with this?

Very nice. I am using one P920. Sure it's Monster. And thanks for sharing the info. Some minor I didn't know before.

Great video. And if you include the most interesting part. That one doesn't need a screw driver to tear part the whole system or add new components. It's really a well designed technology. On top of Real Monster Hardware.

The single processor start from 12000€ and full dual solution with 2 tb Ram. Xeon Platinum and RTX Quadro 8000 .... Will cost around 40000 €. Yes... You can actually buy a Tesla model 3 in this price of a system.
