It's getting harder to like Niles. He finds it hard to tell the truth because of autism...yet he can say very bluntly how he feels about her family home, also because of autism. I don't care who disagrees, I think he's using his diagnosis to avoid accountability for anything.
Edit: I initially didn't like how the producers called him out, but I 100% get it now.

I like Niles, but I’m starting to get really annoyed with him hiding his financial situation. I don’t understand why he proposed and thinks he can get married when he doesn’t even have $300 for the engagement party. How does he expect to get married? Pay for them to come back to the US? Support her until she can get a job? It’s starting to give me “broke passport bro” vibes

so far, matilda has shown she always takes his autism into account when explaining things to him so he can understand instead of getting angry. chicken lady should take some notes....

Matilda is the most beautiful woman on this show ever. Smart, honest, funny, realistic, gorgeous smile… what a catch Niles!!

If you broke you should not be looking for international love

Cmon now, $300 is nothing for a big meal for family and friends. He expected to waltz in, eat their food, hang around and not even buy her family a present? Has he given them anything? Is he a moocher?

I love how supportive Matilda is over Niles' autism.

$300 is cheap for an engagement party - how much does it cost in the USA. Please let’s be honest and respectful.

Hmm Niles can be blunt about her house but not about his plans for the wedding?

Niles needs to come clean about his financial situation. She needs to know that America is not a place where money rains down from the sky. He needs to tell her how much he makes. For his family to be disappointed at home much money he makes is no different than what Niles was saying about their house looking like a prison. So although he is in a better financial place than Matilda and her family, he is by no means a rich man. He's just a kid not a king. They need to be understanding and not expect that a prince on a horse will show up and ask for Matilda's hand. Niles and Matilda can be a really good couple but it could put a great strain on Niles when she may let him know that he will have to support them.

I really wish westerners would not only educate themselves on marriage in most parts of Africa, but try to understand because they make it sound like gold digging, traditional marriages are really expensive & a wedding is a communal affair, food is very important and is always in enormous quantities, I can’t even begin to explain the labor of preparing it for everyone, the women who cook need to be thanked generously
I’m Shona & for us it’s actually common for the groom to take decades paying off the bride price in installments, Niles should have done some research, I’m rooting for them i really love this couple, we haven’t had a sane couple for quite some time now & it’s very refreshing

I hope Niles didn’t mess it up! She is a very good woman and wife. Beautiful open communication. If he appreciates her, she will make him very happy.

We call knocking ceremony an introduction. Usually the groom pays for the food while the brides family prepares it. There is also the bride price, gifts and given that he is posyponing the wedding, there might be an additional fine for that. I really wish they had communicated everything early on or waited until Niles family was on board. Its really not easy to do it alone.

Here we go again. I’m so sick of American women and Muslim men and the cultural clashes they have on this show. Smh how many times is this going to go on before one of them does some research on the others culture before getting in these relationships???!!?!!? 🤦🏾‍♀️

Mathilda is communicating well...I like her. They the cutest couple I saw for a long time. At same Niles make it hard for her purposely or not.

I’d imagine Niles using autism as an excuse for being rude and disrespectful is offensive to those who have autism. I just don’t buy it

Come on Niles, but 300 dollars isn't really that much for a family gathering.

Niles and his reverse Mohawk need to stop blaming his rude behavior and lies on his Autism.

I don't really like Niles anymore. How can you not know about her home situation? Did he never ask?? I dated a few African men and when they were at home, I made them feel comfortable enough to show me their whole house. I found out about blackouts, or water tanks, etc. Also, there are plenty Ghanians, Nigerians, etc that *do have money* . Some have LOTS of money. He needs some curiosity about his partner. He also needs to be honest about his own financial situation. When she gets here, the novelty is going to wear off if he doesn't start making a lot more money. She's very driven. She'll get here and take off like a rocket in her chosen career because she wants more. That said. She's going to ultimately tire of his BS and deception.
