America is presently besieged by the hydra-headed evil combo of inflation and recession. The worst aspect about this crisis is that consumers are piling up credit card debt. Credit card debt increased by 20% in April alone, while interest rates have doubled in a year. Inflation is so severe that customers are essentially going into debt to buy basic essentials. The collapse has certainly begun.

We had a 800 dollar rent increase at my apartment complex. Every single tenant had a move out party! Haha was super fun. They lost millions.

I'm in AZ. When I drive to work I see MANY brand new apartment buildings built since 2020. Yet the rates for all apartments keep going up. When supply is high and demand remains the same pricing should go down. Oh yeah that's right big property management companies are controlling supply by limiting the amout of available units. And these new buildings are damn near empty still. Smh

My retired fathers rent was increased $500 here in Az. He had to go back to work to make ends meet. Sad times for our retired folks.

Everyone relocating with their high salaries eventually learns…When the company lays you off, you will never get the same salary locally.

I’ve been in a career field for 7 yrs that has been referred to as a “recession-proof” job. Don’t matter. I still save my ass off like I’m gonna get laid off tomorrow!

You should NEVER get too comfortable in your job security. I don’t care how much money you make and what you do for a living. The moment you get comfortable is the moment you get caught slipping. Without fail.

Rents are simply out of control. $1800 for a 1 bedroom apt in places that pay $35-40k annual at most. Ridiculous!

I'm a Floridian born and raised and yes we hate people moving from other states coming here!!! That has messed up the Florida economy, this was the retirement state and now its just wild here.

I live in a small town. I researched rent prices. I own only 1 rental property. I raised rent by $100 over the last 4 years. Yeah the renter stayed. He can look online anywhere and realize I raised his rent but it's still cheaper than any other place that isn't hanging on by a string. At the end of the day. you gotta ask yourself if you would rent your own property at the price the renter is getting.

Not to mention, if you work in a city and have a car; more than likely your commute is hella long. So, what you save in rent ends up in the gas tank; which is a whole other topic 😅

Inflation is when you pay fifteen dollars for the ten-dollar haircut you used to get for five dollars when you had hair.

Raising rent, raising insurance, raising taxes, by 50% to 100% gasoline prices still too high, double electric bill. But wages still stagnant. ??? Good luck.

I was about to buy a condo in MIA during COVID. I was dating a guy down there. Found out he was cheating and ended up not moving there. Was def a blessing in disguise. I'm back in DC.

Due to growth here in East Tennessee, even a new area code overlay was created. Despite living in the middle of nowhere, I've got New York neighbors to the right and Florida to the left... nobody is safe. 😂
