We spent 36 at sea chasing as many deep water fish species as we could. The bottom fish found in this untouched gulf fishery are some of the most stubborn and certainly the most delicious fish I've chased. We use multiple techniques to include slow pitch jigs, deep drop baits, and much more. We end out the adventure with a delicious grouper catch clean and cook.

For long and heavy jigs like these, I recommend using a longer and thinner assist line paired with a smaller caliber hook. I practice slow pitch jigging in Brazil, and when I started applying this setup, the results were outstanding.
