The Saiyan Arc features one of Goku’s most difficult challenges in the entirity of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon - fighting Vegeta. The Super Elite Saiyan Prince had so much raw potential that even his lack of belief in training and hard work wasn’t enough to give Goku a chance at closing the gap between them. I'm guessing that cell's regeneration would be better as he doesn't have frieza and King cold in him so the percentage each of his different bits of DNA would be higher.

First off if Vegeta trained with Goku at 100x gravity all the way, and also got his potential unlocked Vegeta's base power would be FAR higher than Goku on Namik. He would have also received a zenki boost that Goku would have not received, as he did in canon, because of how he man handled Vegeta, rather than an even fight.

Gohan post-King kai training would be stronger. Gohan and Piccolo started training at the same time as Piccolo did in canon and and Piccolo finished at the same time as in canon. Gohan's training didn't end when Piccolo's did.

I miss when the fights would actually deal damage to them, not just exhaust them. Like, Goku couldn't even move!

It makes no sense that Goku would get so far ahead of Vegeta in four years when he was stuck working instead of training for a lot of it. Vegeta was smart and married a rich lady, so he was probably training all the time.
