I love trains. I don’t care that they’re slower than airplanes; I *like* to see the countryside! Plus, sleeping (in a bedroom) is so incredibly peaceful.

Wow, 😊thank you for video now I know I don’t have to leave my vehicle at home. I love ride on the Amtrak. to take it all the beautiful scenery each state in town. Each state you go through the nice trees, water view, just to relax and take it all in very serene. 💚💛

I learned this from Peter Dibble videos, I honestly didn't know that we had anything like this.
Then today I started watching a video that reminded me of the auto train that, The video was in Switzerland and it was talking about car ferries on trains.
It makes me wish that there were more of these. I feel like more people would want to ride the train if there was more options like this.
I myself am not a car person (don't own anyone), but I am so thankful to hear that we are getting more routes from Amrak in my area. We only had one for so long.
Now if my major city could get on the ballpark with regional rail will be in good shape.
Anyways, back to this, I think it's a great in between for people who want to ride the train for long distances but also their want drive cars when they get to their destination. Yes, I know you can rent but it's not always convenient. And some people don't feel comfortable in a rental car or can't for some reason.
These may come back and popularity though due to electric cars. Electric cars currently are good for short ranges but are not really good for long haul driving. A part of this is due to infrastructure, but even still I think it is going to take a long time for infrastructure to catch up for the demand. Right now the demand of electric cars is quite low because of the infrastructure, but as soon as the cost go down on electric cars, while at the same a gas guzzling vehicles prices are more expensive. Then you're going to see more demand for something like this. We aren't quite there yet but it is something to think about.

Considering the vast landscape and lack of public transportation within most cities, the US would seem like a prime candidate for a robust auto train system. Why has this never evolved beyond this one route with no intermediate stops? (I’ll take one guess: $)

Amtrak needs more trains 🚆 like 👍 this [the Auto train 🚆] in other parts and other lines. Amtrak [also] needs more high speed (& electrified ⚡️) lines like 👍 the #NewAcela and #NortheastCorridor. Will make traveling 🧳 around the USA 🇺🇸 much more easier and doable..

I thought the Auto Train is for freight
