Coffee, Code, and Elixir (#1) Development with an external API

How can we make external API calls in Elixir? What are the best ways to use test driven development to write Elixir code? How can we mock external API calls? In todays Coffee, Code, and Elixir session, we are going to walk through building out a dashboard that provides insights into an SEO company’s performance for their clients. The SaaS tool they are using is LocalFalcon, so I wanted to record my process of building out an integration with an external API. This will be a similar but more extensive example of what I have my interview candidates go through on their technical step.

This will be the first of many coding sessions where you can see an Elixir developer solving real world problems, where they get stuck, problems they encounter, and solutions they implement.

If your company is hiring, reach out to me. We are on a mission to make the process of hiring Elixir develops painless for companies. We specialize in End to End hiring, interviewing, vetting, and placement, taking the burden off hiring managers and their engineering team.

If you are a developer looking for a job, I’d love to connect with you. Go through the interview process one time, with one company, saving you from the dozens of hours of applying and interviewing, and giving you access to a pool of great companies using Elixir which you can choose from.

We also do Elixir development for companies that would prefer to outsource work instead of building up and managing a team of developers internally.

I apologize for the small font! I had no idea just how small the font was until I uploaded this. I will have that improved for the next video for sure!
