In this video I show you some of the fundamentals of my cue action, and explain why I look to do it this way.

I believe that there are many different ways to cue and there is no right or wrong way of doing it. But I share my thoughts on how I was taught to cue, and the fundamentals that I look for in the cue action.

I would love to hear from you, so if you have some thoughts on the cue action then please comment below.

If you have enjoyed any of my videos then please subscribe to my channel.

I recently retired from being a Professional Pool Player and England International to focus on a commentating and broadcasting career. My aim for this channel is to pass on some of the things I learned along the way, some coaching tips, practice routines and drills, as well as some insights into my broadcasting career.

Just learning and wondering why I am such a weak shot… I’ve learned here that I’m gripping all wrong. Thank you!

Another excellent video! I found “walking into the shot” and committing to your aim really helpful in achieving consistency particularly with long pots! And part of that is having the discipline to do it again if you get it wrong - before I used to adjust whilst down on the shot - I’m sure it is a common mistake!

This was very helpful Simon. I have a friend who really needed this. He also drops his shoulder causing a 'Wavy' cue action. Sometimes the middle of the cue hits the table when his bridge hand is on the cloth. You explained this perfectly. P.S Please release your app for Android, it looks great! Keep up the great vids! Thanks!

Revisiting these videos now the pubs are open and the league is about to start up again to see if I can improve my game. Noticed I stand with my left foot forward and my right foot back. Definitely gonna try and adopted this stance for a while and see if it helps. Loved your videos by the way, it's a shame you're not still making them.

I was self taught as far as stance and cue action was concerned between the age of 7 and 16. Until a bloke called Reg Davies, who allegedly coached on the snooker pro circuit took me under his wing for a couple of weeks. Made a huge difference to my game I must admit.

Could you do a vid on cueing from the side cushions please? Get a lot of them on a pool table and never quite know how to let the cue go through/under hand on side cushion. Thanks.

Hi there Simon my name is Stephen Webb I don't know whether you know by now but I am the inventor of the Eazy breaker I was hoping that you could do a video on the new breaking queue which even the playing field out so it let's everybody had the chance of splitting the balls with less efford so it makes it easier for everybody mick hill announced it on free sport

A lot of guys on TV definitely have like an up and down wobbly action. Could this be some sort of way of generating more spin? It’s always confused me! Thanks

Does it matter where the cue rests on the chest? Good video.
